After we’ve had a good cry, our eyes naturally become puffy, but the puffiness is only temporary. What’s vexing, though, is if the swelling is still there when we wake up in the morning or remains there all day. Puffy eyes are caused by lots of things, but the most common of all is the retention of fluid around the eye area. If you do not see any improvement, however, you may want to consult a doctor because there are times when puffy eyes can be indicative of serious medical conditions like thyroid problems, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
